How we process your data is governed by a Data Processing Agreement – we’ll happily provide you with our template to look over. We comply with all GDPR data subject rights, including correction, deletion, and access requests. And to maximise your protection, we have DPAs of our own in place with all Flip data processors.

We ensure the secure processing of your data through rigorous technical and organisational measures, as outlined in the GDPR. These include (but aren't limited to) Mandatory employee security training, regular third-party audits, two-factor authentication, firewalls, virus protection, and disk encryption. We also regularly review and optimise these measures to ensure we're ahead of the latest security developments.

In a world where your data is constantly collected, connected, and sold, it's nice to know that Flip is a safe space. Flip was designed around the principle of data minimisation: collect what's necessary and nothing more. The only personal data needed to get set up is a first and last name, a user ID (e.g. email address), and a specified role (admin or user). Other information, such as a password reset email address, job title, region, or phone number, is completely optional.

SOC 2 and ISO 27001-certified data storage+

Flip stores your data in SOC 2, ISO 27001- and C5-certified data centres in Germany (Azure, Frankfurt & Berlin), ensuring full EU data sovereignty and compliance with regional regulations.

Open communication, encrypted transmission+

All data is encrypted using TLS 1.3 and RSA 2048-bit with SHA256, backed by HTTPS Strict Transport Security (HSTS). Flip’s employee app is regularly audited by independent third parties to ensure security

Authorisation and authentication+

Flip uses OIDC (OpenID Connect) and OAuth protocols to verify authorisation and authentication. The JSON Web Token (JWT) signature is matched by the system with the user's public key in the API gateway for each individual HTTP access.

Is Flip compatible with our existing Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace environment?+

Yes. Flip integrates seamlessly with both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. It supports Single Sign-On (SSO), role-based access control, and can synchronize SharePoint content directly into Flip — without the need for additional frontline licenses.

Where is our data stored and is there a deletion concept in place?+

All data is hosted in respective regions of our customers (Europe, US, Australia) with certified cloud service providers (Microsoft Azure). Flip has a robust and customizable deletion and data correction concept in place, allowing you to delete, export, or correct user data in line with compliance requirements.

How does Flip manage user roles and permissions?+

Flip supports granular role and permission management. You can define exactly who can view, create, or moderate content, and use built-in moderation tools to manage communication channels, ensuring compliance and operational control.
